Recently lost my husband

My husband has recently died , everything happened so quickly he started being ill on the 3 January couldn't get an appointment with the gp eventually went to walk in 2 times and on second time told to go to AE  and diagnosed with duodenal tumour in February it had spread to the peritoneal area  ,  he had a stent fitted to open up the blockage but struggled with acid reflux and sickness and was given ensures to drink but could only eat very small amounts of food therefore his weight was dropping. He never got the chance of chemo as he died the day  before he was due to start it. I feel in shock as before he got ill he looked fit and well and was still working , he was 59 , he just passed away at home and wasn't on a driver just taking ordinary tablets and acid reflux medicine , I just didn't realise this cancer would be so quick , I am organising his funeral and just can't get my head round it

  • Hi Teresa,

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. My partner passed away in January after a lung cancer diagnosis at the end of November. In the end he had cancer everywhere but, didn't seem to be in any pain. It was in both lungs, lymph nodes, kidney and brain.

It all happened so fast and I just can't process it.

I am still going through a lot of really tough emotions so I can't offer you any help but, just know that you are not alone, take one moment at a time and make sure you have time for yourself

    xx

  • Thanks for your reply I have just replied to you on another of your posts , it's just so difficult life changes in a moment xx
