Hi.i recently lost my amazing Dad to lung cancer.i am trying to get my head around my dad passing away.my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread . However, only found out it was lung cancer the day before he passed away. My dad was in hospital for almost 3 weeks  which was for something else  ( he did have a chest infection) .things seemed ok and we were hoping to have him home.At this point we as a family didn't even know he had cancer. Im trying to understand why the hospital didn't pick up on him having cancer. Im trying to understand why he died a day later we found out he had lung cancer. he ened up with a collapsed lung and pneumonia as well as the cancer. My heart is broken ive lost my dad :( .within that 24 hours of being told he had months to live ..he died with me by his side .we didn't get the time to say so many thing because of the hospital restrictions .no visiting untill his final moments.
