Stage 4 Cancer

For the sake of total anonymity I won't disclose which family member, but I have a close relative with stage 4 cancer that had spread to one other place (at the time). It was diagnosed about 3.5 years ago, but due to misdiagnosis and poor treatment from their GP the hospital think they had started with it up to 4 years prior to that.

anyway, so theyve had surgery to remove the primary tumour but they couldn't take it all out the other place it'd spread too. Therefore it's classed as incurable and life limiting. Theyve been on IV chemo and immunotherapy but it has a spread a bit more, and so as the treatment isn't working they've taken them off from next week and moved them to chemo tablets instead so they can live with less horrible side effects.

I am worried this move isn't a good sign...

Does anyone have any experience in this?
