Caring for someone with a Cystectomy

Hi I am looking for advice with caring for someone who might be having a cystectomy.

My dad has cerebral palsy and diagnosed with muscle  invasive bladder cancer. We have been given a booklet regarding treatments. The co sultant that spoke to us said the most effective treatment would be cystectomy but suggested due to cerebral palsy he would not be able to cope with it in daily life. He lives with us and we are happy to get carers in if needs be.

I would like to know what it's like having a bladder bag? What's the  daily care needed, how ofter would you need to empty? What's impact does it have on ur daily life if you have one?

Any info and advise would be greatly recieved.

If it was anyone else the operation would be the advised treatment.

Many thanks
