Hi everyone,
My dad was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in January of this year (2021) he was told he had 12 months to live. Since then he has had radiotherapy and chemotherapy which seemed to help him quite a bit a couple of months ago. He has since been struggling to breathe, sleep, eat and was taken to hospital to then be told he had pneumonia in one of his lungs. His scan came back and the doctors told him they couldn't believe how terrible this scan was compared to the one in august and he now has a meeting on Tuesday with the oncologist. They said they actually had to double check it was the same person on the scan as it had advanced so quickly and badly in such a short time.
He is struggling to breathe constantly, he has lost weight, he cannot sleep and has a rattle in his chest when he breathes. Can someone please advise if they have ever experienced anything like this and what me and my mum are to expect in these coming days/weeks/months?
Trying to remain positive but it's not looking good..
Thanks everyone for any advice or stories you may have xx
