Chemo drugs support

Hey everyone,

My boyfriend had his first session of beacopp today. He's been sent home with several tablets and injections etc and I'm trying to make sense of it (he's asleep so I can't ask if the nurses have told him already so reaching out to you guys).

Two of the medications say "take one tablet twice a day", two other medications say "take one tablet once a day", another is "two tablets once a day", another is "three tablets once a day" and finally "four tablets once a day".

Do you take these all at once? Or do you space each drug out over the course of the day but take 2, 3 or 4 etc.

Also, can anyone recommend a good pill box to keep these all organised?

Sorry if this sounds stupid, I think I've confused myself!

Thanks!

  • Hello SBNS

I'm sorry to hear that your boyfriend has just started chemotherapy. It's natural to feel overwhelmed by everything. Hopefully, by now you've gotten some answers from his medical team but if you're still unsure then do get in touch with the nurses responsible for his care as they will be best placed to advice you about his medication.

There are lots of different pill boxes available but you may find it just as easy to write down a schedule of what medications at what time on a piece of paper and use that as your guide through the day. Particularly if medications will change over the coming weeks.

I do hope that the treatment goes smoothly and that things settle for you both.

    Best wishes,
