Carcinosarcoma in womb

My Mum was diagnosed with Carcinosarcoma in the womb Does anyone have any info on this?

  • Hello Archky.,

A big welcome to Cancer Chat! I am sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis. Looking at our page on types and grades of womb cancer, it seems like it is a very rare type of womb cancer which doctors treat as a type 2 endometrial cancer as they behave in a similar way.

I've had a look on the forum and found this thread by [@Jsr]‍ whose mum was also diagnosed with carcinosarcoma of the endometrium so it could be a good person for you to chat to and connect with on the forum.

If you'd like to talk things through with our nurses, you can reach them on this free number 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

I hope your mum is feeling ok and that she finds out more soon about her treatment plan.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Archky,

I was diagnosed with a Stage 3c uterine carcinosarcoma in August 2018 and now have small volume lung secondaries. I wanted to share that I have achieved 18 months of disease stability on the ATARI trial at a London hospital, amazingly taking oral medication with next to no side effects.

Obviously I know nothing of your Mum's situation, but in case it was relevant to her wanted to make you aware that the lead investigator is keen to recruit other patients with the same diagnosis.
