he still feels sick when eating anything - hes having cups of bovril - cant handle milk the now - not cos he is bringing anything up but he just cant stomach it -

has anyone else been in this situation ?   i am really concerned that hes not getting enough -  his fluids are good tho - hes drinking as much as he can take. and eating sweets. were going to try him on custard and tapioca

The drs said they are not worried but i am just concend as hes just been through a major op and hes doing ok .

Has anyone else been through this ? is this normal ? he cant go the shakes that they have given him

  • Hello david-g

I'm sorry to hear that your Dad is struggling with food intake. It's understandable that you're feeling worried about things.

We've some information on our website about managing diet problems in cancer which may be of help but I'd really encourage you to speak to your Dad's Consultant or nurse specialist for some advice and support. I'm sure they will be able to give you some advice on diet and refer him to a dietician for further advice and support if necessary.

Alternatively, you're most welcome to call our team of nurses to talk things through with them. I'm sure they'll be happy to offer any information and support that they can. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I do hope that things pick up for your Dad soon.

    Best wishes,
