Moms lung cancer journey

Hi all. I'm new here.
I really needed someone to turn to after having some *** news yesterday.
my mom was diagnosed with SCLC at stage 4 and treatments just haven't done nothing for her and always ends up in hospital with sepsis and pneumonia.
She now has no treatments due to her body rejecting them and making her extremely poorly and this was all discussed yesterday.
She doesn't want to have scans or prognosis or know anything to do with life expectancy as it petrifies her, but I feel as if I need a little bit of advice on what to expect, life expectancy and more.
I hope someone can help and Thankyou all so much for reading my post.
I hope you all stay safe and well! God bless you all xx

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Blondebirdd although I'm very sorry to read your post.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be for you and your mom but our members are here for you and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

If you have your mom's permission you should be able to have a chat with her medical team directly and get some of your questions answered but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses then you're more than welcome to give them a call next week on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to help.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
