So sorry to read about your mum being  diognosed with breast cancer.  I can understand how you are feeling,you probably are worried and its understandable as its a worrying time for all concerned,ecspecialy as your mums newly diognosed. There are many types and grades of cancer ,and treatment plans will be discussed with your muns oncoligist. The best advice I can give to you for your mum is,get a note pad and pen and write down any questions or concerns that your mum ,you and your family have. Things like  what is  the best  treatment plan for me.How long will treatment if needed  be,will it be before surgery or after surgery, will I need Radiotherapy  and if so for how long.Once type and grade of cancer is obtained,ask has  any of my lympth nodes shown signs that they contain cancer cells. Your oncologist will be able to answer any questions your  mum may wish to ask. Ask for your oncologist secretaries tel number ,so if you need to contact your oncologist you have that number ,you should also be given a designated breast care nurse to look after your mum,and given all relevant numbers ,that you may need. 

I was diognosed with stage 2 invasive breast cancer in  my right breast in may 2020 and was tokd  that it  had spread to 3 of  my lymoth nodes , so all were removed  from under my right arm ,I had a lumpectomy on my right breast. I had  chemotherapy ,which I finished on December 14th 20020,I had  Radiotherapy 15 sessions of it which I finished on March 30th 2021.

I can reassure you your mum will be well looked after and cared for, I was. I was amazed at how my right breast  looked after surgety, I was scared to look at first,but was pleasantly  surprised, the scar  was minimal. Yes it was sore ,but you'd expect that. Make sure your mum does the excersises from the excersise sheet witch will be given after surgery ,it realy helps.  Everyone's cancer journey is unique to them,I was also given the advice from a chemotherapy nurse  never to compare your chemotherapy trestments, with another patient, as our body's are unique to ourselves,and what one person  is experiencing with their treatment  another person may not, I was told  just take each day one at a time ,and deal with things if they crop up,sone people get little or no side effects,and even if you do get some, your oncologist can always  review your trearmenrs and maybe reduce chemotherapy dose if needed.
