Linitis plastica

Hello,my dad has been diagnosed with linitis plastica they told us he is t3n2m0 with a right upper oesophageal node. There is no surgery available for him and they are just giving him 25% of chemo. It will be his last dose on Monday and I'm scared what will happen when the treatment stops. There is hardly any information on it and I don't want to ask the Dr's infront of him cause he gets upset and he wants to make it to Christmas with the grandkids, how quick will it be before the cancer takes over.

  • Hello Shoob

I'm sorry to hear that your Dad has been diagnosed with linitis palstica. It can be really difficult to find information and to connect with others when you're dealing with a rare diagnosis.

Can I suggest that you give our team of nurses a call when you get a chance? I'm sure that they will be happy to talk things through with you and try and offer any information, support, and advice that they can. They're available Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that your Dad has responded to the treatment that he's been having and that it gives you all the time that you'd like to be able to make memories together. Do keep in touch here on the forum if it helps.

    Best wishes,
