Chemo Post whipple surgery what toExpect

Hi everyone I'm on today to get some help and advice please. 
 

my mummy back in March was diagnosed wirh Pancreatice cancer and was a candidate to undergo whipple Procedure. She's 8 weeks post op on Monday 12th July and has to start chemotherapy on Friday 16th July ... folfirinox for 5 months. 
 

she has been basically ridden since her op, she lost allot of Blodd during as her tumour was on the vein and it has grew and 4/21 positive lymph nodes. 
 

has anyone every been through the same or something similar?? I have been through it 9 years ago wirh my father , his chemo Was to only prolong his life. 
 

will my mum be really sick and loose her hair?? Her chemo will be via picc line at home

  • Hi.  I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you.  I know of the Whipple procedure because I have a polyp in my duodenum which needs to be removed.  I am going to suggest you try the search facility on here to look for posts on your topic.  I have found that helpful...I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad and I hope your Mum, given time and treatment, makes good progress.
