Just in case box

My mum has secondary brain cancer and has been handed over to the Macmillan team. At the moment she is upbeat and energetic due to the steroids with moments of crying understandably. Her GP visited her today and mentioned a "just in case" box. I know what this contains but it just all hits home again and my anxiety is through the roof

    Hi Koko,

This always comes as an unwelcome shock, no matter how well prepared we think we are. Try not to think of what may happen at the end. This is a necessary item to ensure a peaceful and pain free passing.

Try not to think of what is to come. Enjoy each and every day and take things day by day or even hour by hour if need be. The bigger picture is too much to cope with just now. Support your mum as much as you can. Enjoy the time you have while she is upbeat and energetic and make as many memories as you can.

Thinking of you and your family and wishing you the strength to see this heart ache through.

We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Good advice, I will take it on board thank you.
