Hi All,
My dad has recently been diagnosed with bone metastasis of the bones, lungs and lymph nodes.
He went into hospital for a blood test and a meeting, but due to his lack of energy, lethargy and extreme weight loss within the last 6 weeks, they have opted to keep him in for observations.
Since being in hospital, he has developed severe and excruciating pain in his bones. He has been given morphine and patches, but nothing seems to be relieving him of his pain, and he is in agony.
The doctors noticed on his blood test that he had high levels of calcium, so are soon going to start treating him for 'hypercalcemia' to see if this stabilises his blood, so he can start treatment.
My question is, has anyone else suffered from hypercalcemia?
Has anyone else had treatment postponed due to this, or due to low blood count?
Thank you x
