Ideas for cheering up partners mum, had op for bowel cancer

Hi my partners mum has had an operation for bowel cancer and is now thankfully in remission, however she is so low in mood, which is upsetting for us all as well as her. I think she sees herself as a burden to us all (which she obviously isnt)  I was thinking of doing something for her to help cheer her up a bit but all my ideas are food based which i know she would struggle with given the operation that she has had. Can anyone help with some ideas to help brighten her spirit.I dont want to overwhelm her but i think she deserves something nice.

I'm sorry to hear about all that your partner's Mum has had to deal with. It's great to hear that she's now in remission but it's not uncommon for some people to feel low during this period of things.

I'm sure she'd appreciate a little pick me up and hopefully some of our members here will post to share their ideas with you. I wonder if she might appreciate a little pampering in the form of a manicure. You don't necessarily have to take her out somewhere but some lovely hand cream and painted nails may put a smile on her face. Or is there a favourite film or programme that you could watch together. If she's well enough to go out then maybe a trip out somewhere locally may help lift her spirits.

I hope that things continue to improve for her.

    Best wishes,
