2nd opinion on a post nasal biopsy.

Hi so my partner has already been diagnosed with MALT Lymphoma in 2017 he is on watch and wait the majority of the time for this but then he did need a large dose of Radiotherapy throughout December, then a routine CT called for a PET scan which picked up on a post nasal growth in February so he has recently had a biopsy taken (beginning of May) but we didn't hear ANYTHING for 3 weeks so I called on Friday and the surgeons receptionist told us the his biopsy has infact been sent off to a specialist cancer centre for a second opinion. Has anyone had this happen before (second opinion) and still had good news? I'm terrified it shows up another cancer that isn't so easily controlled as the Lymphoma. He is only 38 and we have 4 young children I'm so scared.

  • Hello Georgie7,

The amount of time to wait for results can vary and sometimes it may be necessary for them to seek a second opinion, but I understand this is a worrying time. These tips here may be useful for you and could help take those worries out of your mind.

I hope the results come through soon and all the best to you and your partner.
