Stent

Hi

My husband has been took into hospital tday to have a stent fitted .

He has advanced stomach cancer he's had 2 cycles of chemo took it really bad stoped chemo still been sick

The district nurse has been trying to get on top of he's antisickness meds but still the same he has a driver with he's meds in .

Found out this afternoon from he's ongulist that the ct scan has shown that the cancer has progressed and is blocking he's stomach hence the stent.

I really don't know much about them and will they still give him any treatment going forward .

I had a brief conversation with cancer nurse they said they wouldn't be anymore chemo I'm terrified that there's nothing else they can try I'm so confused

  • Hello Busby666,

I am sorry to hear the sad news that your husband's cancer has progressed and is blocking his stomach. I really hope that despite all this, your husband will have some other treatment options available to him. I hope you find out more soon from his consultant and also that your poor husband feels less sick.

There is information on our website on stents which you can read on this page.

I thought I would give you our nurses' helpline number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm so don't hesitate to give them a call and ask them anything about stents or anything else that is on your mind and you would like to discuss. You're certainly going through a lot at the moment and it might help to talk things through with someone.

Best wishes to you and your husband,
