Bowel cancer spread

Hi,

my partner was diagnosed with stage3/4 bowel cancer in May 2020. 3/4 because if the number of nodes involved. Completed 8 rounds chemo and had a Ned scan in January 2020.
layest scan show 3 x tumours in omentum , 1,2 and 2.5 cm. Surgery not an option and 6 months chemo offered. My partner is going to have chemo but from reading the internet I'm fearing the worst.
anyone any experience of this before?

any advice would be welcome

thank you

a very worried partner

  • Hi nice to meet you, my husband had colon cancer they removed 16 nodes had spread to 3  in 2013 , he was given the all clear the year after our first wedding aniversary. but had to have check ups after/ he went for a scan the year after and they saw marks on his liver but they put it down to normal things even tho i asked for a biopsy for hubby. that was 2nd wedding anniversary.few months on it had proven my fears it had spread too liver  and lungs, my advice to you, is to look at the results and if you are unsure fight them, if i had stood my ground when the shadow  had shown on his liver he might still be here, he lived 3 years after diagnoses x

  • Thanks for your message. It's so hard to read any information about mets in the omentum. My partner had24 nodes removed with 15 positive so the doctors always said that they weren't sure of stage 3/4. We just got to hope the chemo works in shrinking and stopping the spread and take it from there.

So sorry to hear about your husband. Try not to think about if's. We all have them don't we. It's such a hard situation to be plunged into . So much information on the net which is difficult to digest.

    hugs
