Ovarian cancer

Hi my mum has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer 3 weeks ago, when we were told we all just cried and were  devastated, mums stomach had swollen which is called ascites, which they drained in hospital, they took a biopsy from mums stomach and we had to wait 7-10 days for the results, mum has cancer in her liver and stomach, and yesterday they put in a stent in her large intestine, due to her bowel being blocked, she has  no pain and we visit as often as we can, as we are not allowed on the ward, but we visit in a family room,  mums starting chemo next week which will help with her stomach swelling, which has started swell again, we are all trying to keep positive and hoping my mum will be home this weekend, to everyone going through this keep positive!

  • Hi Domansky,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to hear of what your mum is going through - I'm sure this must be incredibly tough for all of you.

It sounds like it's fairly early days - I hope the start of treatment goes well and that you're able to see more of her soon.

We're always here for support on the forum if you need it and I hope it can provide some support to you.

    Wishing you all the best,
