Lorlatinib

Hello everyone,

My father has been battling stage IV ALK+ lung cancer for around 18 months now.  He has just recently switched from the targeted therapy Alecensa to Lorlatinib as Alecensa has stopped working.  I'm trying to find some info online about lorlatinib but unfortunately haven't found much as I'm aware it's a very new drug.. would be very grateful if anyone who has experience at all with it could provide some info?  Any indication on quality of life/side effects and potential life expectancy would be great.

thank you very much in advance,

  • Hello Lea126

I'm sorry to hear about your Father's diagnosis and that he's recently had to change treatments as Alecensa was no longer working for him.

As lorlatinib is a new drug there is limited information available online and we don't currently have any other members who have mentioned it in their posts but you may want to have a look at this news article published on the CRUK site last year.

If you wanted to speak to one of our nurses I'm sure they would be happy to give you any information that they can. They're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I'm sorry that I've not been able to be more helpful and I hope that this new treatment regime is beneficial for your Father.

    Best wishes,
