  • Hi Hsmith160716,

Firstly I'm very sorry to hear of what your mother in law is going through. I can understand you must have a lot of questions.

Unfortunately it's hard to advise on the answers to these - this sort of information can really only be provided by your mother in law's specialist, once they have done all the necessary tests to find out what they need to know.

At this point you should have the information you need, along with any next steps involved.

Hopefully you'll find out more before too long.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi HSmith,

I am so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law's recent diagnosis. I know just how devastating this can be, as I have been through  this with my own mum. She had secondary breast cancer in her liver, lungs, bones and brain. It is always more upsetting when you cannot detect the primary source, but I expect that her care team will continue to try and find it.

It is impossible for anyone here to predict the likely prognosis or treatment options, as there are so many other factors to consider when making this judgement. The best prson to advise on this is your mother-in-law's specialist, if she will give her consent for you to speak to him/her. I do hope that you can find these answers soon and that you find the strength to see this through.

Please keep in touch and remember that we are always here for you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
