My wife (just turned 40 last week) had her whipple surgery back in December 22nd, returning home January 13th and was due to start chemo before March 16th (this was advised as being the optimum timeframe for starting by). Her chemo didn't start properly (after failed tablet format wasn't viable) until April 12th (cisplatine and gemcitabine via IV). The week after she was very ill, not able to eat and became so weak. April 19th she developed an unmanagable pain in her chest. Taken to hospital for tests and found no suspected clots in lungs or chest area. They did however just manage to see metastatic tumours on the liver via that scan. A dedicated scan revealed more and some lymph nodes affected. They are shocked by the scan results and meeting early next week to determine whats comes next. Has anyone experienced similar and able to provide any advice on what we might expect?
