Mum has lung cancer

Hi all,

This is my first time posting, I've been reading for awhile & hoping that I'd never have to post here

But Mums results came back last week as positive and been given a short amount of time.

I have many many questions but the main one is something that's really concerning me is my Mums behaviour, she is constantly pulling faces and her head is continuously moving. Very much like she is having tics. She had an MRI appointment to check her brain for cancer but decided she didn't want to have it. So I suppose my question is would this behaviour be connected to the cancer spread into her brain?

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Sam although I'm very sorry about your mum's diagnosis.

Unfortunately the question you ask is one I cannot answer but I hope this information we have about secondary brain cancer will help. If you have your mum's permission, you may be able to discuss your concerns with her medical team as well but if you'd like to have a chat with one of our cancer nurses about this you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Sending you both my very best wishes at this difficult time.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
