Sister won't support

Does anyone else have a family member who won't have anything to do with supporting their dying parent?

My sister hasn't even visited my dying Mum and has no interest in supporting me with the 24/7 caring responsibility but she does post on Twitter to get sympathy from strangers.

Angry!!

  • Hi HotPot,

I have just replied to your other post and then found this one. Unfortunately, this is something that occurs in many families. It does seem so unfair.

I am a great believer in the fact that what goes around comes around, so maybe one of these days your sister will get her come uppance.

Sending you the strength to get through this.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine

  • Thanks Jolamine

So true! It just made my blood boil last night when I was dealing with so much and I  came online to get some support and the first thing I saw was her tweeting about how hard her life is! She's carrying on as normal and I've overturned my life and moved 60 miles away from home, work and friends to be here.

    Karma will prevail!

    Hi HotPot,

Don't worry. She'll get her just deserts. Have you got any help at home? You can get carers in up to 4 times a day to help with your mum's personal care. You can also get the help of someone to sit with your mum overnight to give you a chance to sleep. You can get help from the Macmillan nurses or your practice nurse as well. Having some of these people involved gives you the chance to spend some more quality time with your mum.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
