Caring for someone with cancer Sleeping 18 hours a day?

Sleeping 18 hours a day?

If an 88 year old with pancreatic cancer is sleeping 18 hours a day how close to the end are we?

She us still eating small amounts so digestive system hasn't shut down. Would you say she is in pre-active rather than active dying phase?

I'm prepared for the worse but would just like to know how long.

Hi HotPot,
Sadly, there is no telling. In most cases you will find that sleeping a lot, then not eating, then not drinking are the flags you're looking for. Do you have a doctor or nurse coming to visit from time to time? They can usually give you some indication when the end is nearing.
