Husbands pancreatic cancer story

Hi I'm  new to this forum and have been searching the internet for solutions. My husband started folfirinox a couple of weeks ago after a delay in confirming initial diagnosis due to inconclusive biopsy results jaundice and biliary stent insertion but has had terrible nausea and vomits x1-2 day. His second cycle has been delayed until the sickness is under control. We have changed his anti sickness tabs from metronidazole  to cyclizine with no real improvement and am waiting a call back from his GP to discuss alternatives. He was diagnosed with hiatus hernia following initial gastroscopy investigations and takes lanoprazole also has suffered diarrhoea prior to diagnosis which he has a telephone cons on weekend with gastrologist re possible bile acid malabsorption.  I'm sure these problems are adding to nausea. I just wondered if anyone else is in same situation and how it was solved.  Thank you for reading my post I'm so worried about him he can't afford to lose more weight

  • Hello Sukicat1

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's situation. It sounds like it's very difficult for you both and I can understand why you're feeling concerned about things.

I hope that the phone call with the GP was helpful and that they were able to suggest some alternative medication. If not then do mention it to the Gastrologist at the weekend or if you have a clinical nurse specialist give them a call beforehand for some advice.

I'm unsure if we've any members here who have been through similar issues, hopefully, if we have they will post to share their experiences with you but I wonder if it may be helpful to give our team of nurses a call for some advice and support. If you'd like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I do hope that things settle and improve soon.

    Best wishes,
