Cancer blocking drug

My husband has advanced stomach cancer he has had 4 doses of radiotherapy we had a phone call from ongulist he said they going to treat him with a cancer blocker drug I have never heard of this before. Was wondering if anybody has tried this

  • Hello Busby 666,

l have been following your posts, and l am very sorry to read that your husband has been going through a hard time, along with yourself as you struggle to come to terms with this.Given that he has struggled with the chemo l suspect he is being pulled away from this as it is doing more damage than cure. The cancer blocker drugs are more targeted in that their aim is to deny the cancer tumour the ability to obtain the necessities it requires in order to grow, multiply and spread throughout the body.l am not sure as to the side effects , but expect they may be easier tolerated by the patient.

Hopefully this treatment will prove to be successful, and at the very least halt any progression and maintain an endurable status quo allowing your husband to regain strength and the possibility of further future treatments,

my best wishes for future improvements,

                                             David

  • Hi David thankyou for the reply. I think I may have said chemotherapy instead of radiotherapy that's what my husband has already had. He had 4 doses last one 2 weeks ago. He was booked in for chemotherapy next week however ongulist wants to start him on some steroids to help with he's appiete and over all fitness then he should beable to start he's treatment. The ongulist said he would be suitable for the blocking treatment. It's really difficult to find out what's going to happen as the appointment with ongulist is a phone call. We forget to ask questions. Thankyou again for your help  Marie
