Worried about husband having chop chemo

My husband is 75 and diagnosed with hodgkins lumphoma stage 4. I'm so worried that the chop chemo will be to much for him. He is so fit for his age. He also has to inject himself which he is not comfortable with

  • Hello Depearm

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis and the concerns that you both have about his upcoming treatment. I'd encourage him to speak to his clinical nurse specialist or Oncologist about his concerns about the injections. I'm sure they will be able to offer him support with this.

It's understandable that you're worried about how he'll cope with the chemo and I think that this is a common concern amongst many people who have chemo. Keep in mind that not everyone will experience side effects to the same degree and you will have information about who you can contact if you have any concerns about how he is coping.

If you'd like to chat with one of our nurses you're most welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they will be able to offer you some advice and support. They're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you are both doing.

    Best wishes,
