Oesophageal cancer mucus

Hi

My dad has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the oesophagus and is awaiting treatment. 2 questions:
1. He is having terrible trouble with over production of mucus, which we know is produced by the tumour. However, it makes him feel full and is struggling to eat. Does anyone know of anything that can dry this up?

2. He has very liquid ready break in the morning that he can keep down, but nothing else stays down the rest of the day. I feel that although it is watery it is still coating the tiny hole he has and is blocking it. You're probably wondering why I'm putting this on here, but he is very stubborn and won't listen to me He's convinced it is not the problem. Does anyone with this cancer have the same problem with ready break?
Thanks in advance
