Dad - Terminal cancer - he can’t sleep

Hi,

My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in October which has spread to his liver, spine, neck, pelvis. Offered only pallative care.
His  deteriorated so much, can barely move, in hospital bed and catheterised.
Wednesday 29th he had a bad turn of delirium and was hallucinating we had to get the nurses out who gave him madizalam on the 3rd visit giving 7.5mg it finally worked and he went to sleep. The nurses continued this for 3 days then my mum was getting him to drink and then spoke to hospice nurses ans they suggested other medication to Help with the delirium and hallucinations and sleeping tablets . Nothing works . We thought we was going to lose him before new year but his perked up as in eats little and drinks , other than that. My mum is exhausted . He just won't sleep, constantly looking around seeing things. People . He is constantly passing us wire out of his hands which isn't there. It's every two minutes . It's torture to watch . Honestly do not know how much more my mum can take. My dad wish was to be at home with my mum and my siblings so hospice is not a choice. I'm broken to see him like it and also my mum she's struggling so much .
Anyone gone through similar with the the no sleeping and any advice , suggestions

Thank you
