welcome to the Oesophageal cancer club. One you'd no doubt rather not be a member of!
There are so many of us on here it is incredible , but we all pop up in different threads and places, I have been wondering if there was any way of setting up a board for this club.

Anyhows. I only joined the club in August 2020- my husbands diagnosis  was totally unexpected and biazzare, Meltdowns are , I think compulsory and they are always okay. I really dislike the words strong and coping, what on earth do they mean, or look like. All any of us can do is plod on.

NOW- the lovely FLOT, I am no expert, but just what I've picked up along they way.

It is utterly nuclear and very aggressive. It is a combo of 4 different drugs. I think it is relatively new, not the drugs , but the combo as a study showed it was very effective. I know that many people struggle with it, but I also know that if it is 'murder' then the Oncologists can tweek it.

My husband was very nauseous after the first cycle, mentioned this when he went back and they changed his anti nausea drugs and told him to take them continuously. Worked a treat, only left with a bit a vague nausea. He always said he felt like he'd been poisoned , which of course is true.

He did manage to complete the cycles and his symptoms were gone after the second cycle. He has now had his op and we are on pins waiting for discharge, probably more chemo after regardless of pathological response.
