immunotherapy

Hi, My husband like many has now been told that they will no longer administer immunotherapy drug nivolumab as he has now reached the two year limit. We were never made aware of there was a limit at the outset. The results he has had have been amazing going from having a short time to live to now living a happy healthy life with no sign of disease. He had neck cancer and secondary in lung. Has anyone else had similiar experiences ? We have appealed to NHS but to no avail. Be interested in understanding other people's experiences

  • Hi

I can only imagine but surely empathise how you must be feeling at the moment, as it is hard to understand whether this interruption is purely for medical reason (I understand that the immune system might be able to carry on on its own after learning for two years) or funding reasons.

Just to mention I came across that post : www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../immunotherapy-2-year-limit that I think might be relevant and might yield further info going forward. THere might be other posts to be found.

    Wishing you all the best
