Pancreatic cancer spread to liver and lungs

My husband who is a young 63 year old has just been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas, liver and lung after only being unwell for 5 weeks.  Although a stent to the pancreas has been fitted the jaundice has not improved if anything it has got worse, and he is awaiting an appointment at our cancer specialist hospital.  His general consultant has advised he is unlikely to be offered chemo as although he was fit before diagnosis his severe jaundice makes him unsuitable.  Trying to get an estimated life expectancy from the hospital is proving difficult which in turn is making plans impossible.
Any suggestions appreciated

  • Hello I'm so sorry to hear this, my uncle was diagnosed in March with advance pancreas cancer what has now spread to his lungs and his bowels also I'm sure his kidneys and liver to, he has been given 6-12 months, pancreas cancer is one of the most aggressive cancers and chemo will probably not be offered and the pancreas actually fights against the chemo that will lead to much more complications, life expectancy may be diffrent for your husband, I hope you all the best and sending lots of love and support your way x

  • Hi Taffy,

Really sorry about your husbands diagnosis and hoping he is as comfortable as possible.

My Dad 52 was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer spread to liver and died after 3 months.

Hear if you need to chat and have questions.

    Xxx
