My husband had radiotherapy for tonsil cancer. The problem is, like you say, all so different. At the time, they were happy that it had not spread into the lymph nodes and after gave him a clear bill of health and said he was clear. We are on a different journey now three years on which I won't go into here.

But, one thing that worked for my husband and still to this day are protein milk shakes  - full fat milk - milk shake syrup - 2 big servings of protein and whey filled to the brim with icecream - he managed to maintain his weight on two of these a day and no food. He had a feeding peg but would not drink the fortisip after a while so would have them through his tube (peg)  x do not be scared of the tube - have it x I only wish my husband's tube was still there as he is so sick now x 

One thing I feared was the affects on the skin on his neck - all his soups and shampoos were u fragranced  and although his neck did blister, he didnt suffer any serious infection and it healed quite quickly. 

3.years on and he still struggles with lack of saliva but, now, like I say, we are on a very different journey.
