Aggressive non Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis

Hi,

yesterday my partner received the news that he has aggressive non Hodgkin lymphoma. We are still awaiting further tests, a full bony ct scan booked for Sunday and a PET scan hopefully the following week.
I'm  just wanting a little more information on what to expect from the treatment. The consultant had already said that chemo will be a definite.
My partner and I don't live together, I currently live an hour and a half away. I'm more than happy to move in with him as I don't want him to have to go through treatment on his own.

he worries I'm being to hasty but I have seen the awful affects of chemo when my dad was receiving treatment.

I suppose I'm just wanting someone to discuss this with who knows what treatment is like

  • Hello Ems2020

I'm sorry to hear about your partners recent diagnosis. I'm sure it's been a difficult time for you both and I can understand why you want to be there to support him through treatment.
Hopefully tomorrow's bone scan and the upcoming PET scan will bring some good news and he won't have to wait too long to start his treatment.

We do have some information on our website here about NHL including some information about treatment for high grade NHL.
I don't think we have any members currently who are actively going through treatment for NHL but if there are then hopefully they will post to share their experiences with you.

You might find it helpful to have a chat with one of our team of nurses as I know that they will be able to offer some advice, support and information. If you'd like to speak to them, they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

You could also check out the Lymphoma Action forum where you may be able to connect with others in a similar situation as well.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
