Father has bladder cancer how can I support him?

Hi, this is my first time posting on here.
My dad who is 60 was just called in for his results from his op to remove the growth. He has been told that it has spread to his bladder so will have to have his bladder and prostrate removed. I am gutted for him but hopefull that this will sort out what's necessary.
we don't live near each other, I want to be able

to support him but not sure how.
he doesn't want to eat at the moment which I understand but can't afford to loose any more weight (recently

lost 3 stone) I was thinking about buying him some nutritional shakes like Herbalife so that he can at least be sure to drink something that will give him all the nutrients he needs- does anyone have any thoughts on this or something else?
any thanks for reading x

  • Hello Cb04kkh2

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's recent diagnosis. I'm sure this is a difficult time for you both and it's understandable that you want to do all you can to support him through this.

It's not uncommon for some people to have problems with their appetite following a cancer diagnosis. Anxiety and stress can have a real impact on a person.

We do have some information on our website about diet that may be of help but you could also give our team of nurses a call. I'm sure they will be able to offer some advice and support. If you'd like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
