Grandmother stage 4 lung cancer

Hi,

 

My Nan has stage 4 lung cancer and has been told she has 'short months' left to live. I am not sure exactly what this means? . I know she does not have long but the hospital won't put a figure on it which I understand as I know everyone is different.

 

I would just like some idea what we could be looking at as my sister lives abroad and she would like to make plans to come home.

    I'm sorry to hear about your Nan's diagnosis. It's really difficult for anyone to say how long "months" may be. Some patients defy the odds and live longer than expected whilst for some the time progresses more raipdly than expected. 

    In terms of your sister making plans to come home it's something to talk about with her and perhaps look into the practicalities of a visit given the current Covid19 restrictions.
