Isolated tumour deposits

Sooooo im back yet again! Im sure this is all i do, cancer sure does take over your life...

for those i havent explained this too already and apologies to those i have, my dad has colon cancer PT4apn1b which has spread to his liver. 3 weeks ago he has the colon tunour removed and a stoma fitted and now starts chemo on the 23rd for the liver, oral for 15 days then full body chemo same cycle then repeated and so on.

we receieved a letter today which said, evidence of both extramural venous, lymphatic and perineural evasion and isolated tunour deposits, what does this mean because from what ive read it doesnt sound good at all.

it then goes on to say systamatic chemo and liver resection doesnt seem appropriate right now which again in my mind doesnt sound good!

does anyone understand this?

sorry to bug you all again xxxx

  • Hello Kirsta1986

I'm sorry to hear that your Dad is dealing with colon cancer at the moment. Understandably it's a difficult time for you all.

It's often difficult when letters are sent to patients without there being any clarification on what the content actually means. I'd suggest getting in touch with the Consultant's secretary or your Dad's GP who will also probably have a copy of the letter.

They will be best placed to explain what the results mean in context for your Dad.

    Best wishes,
