Inoperable stomach cancer, mum told to have palliative care

I am seeking to see if anyone has been in a similar situation as my mother.

she was diagnosed with Gastric cancer which they told us were treating it as curable. Fast foward after only having 3 chemo pre op, they have told us that her cancer is no longer operate as the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes but not yet spread to her organs. They have told us the operation prognosis is bad.

We are waiting for her consultant to tell us what her palliative treatment plan is.

i wanted to know if anyone went for a second opinion with another hospital, what the waiting time was and did you get a difference answer.

also if anyone has had palliative care has it help to prolong their life's?

As a family we are struggling with this news as we had hopes they will be able to cure the cancer.

thanking you in advance.

thank you very much for your words of advice, it means a lot.

my mother is everything to us and to see her go through is heart breaking.

I pray that you and everyone who is going through cancer treatment are treated with the right treatment available and make us all strong mentally.

all the best and thank you again.
