Mum has stage 4 sclc

My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 SCLC 2 yrs ago. Her first round of treatment worked well and the tumour was gone. 3 months later it returned and chemo was started again her treatment was stopped last summer due to it making her so ill and not working. 12 wks ago she was admitted to hospital they did an mri of her head and found an 11mm tumour the other issue is her sodium levels are low. Mum was started on tolvaptan along with a fluid restriction which appeared to be working. She was readmitted to hospital last night due to low sodium levels and confusion and having trouble standing. Spoke to the nurse this morning and they are doing another head scan. I'm so worried as to why they are doing another scan within 8 wks of the last one.
