Hi, my stepfather in 80 and went into hospital 2 days ago feeling unwell with yellow skin. His kidneys have failed and a procedure today (I think an endoscopy) has diagnosed pancreatic cancer. He was very weak the last few days and is now out of surgery and in intensive care.
Im worried about my mum. She has a lot of questions and I was hoping I might get some answers here.
1) is it likely he will be able to go home or at best will he end up in a hospice.
2) is this very late stage? Can we expect days or still maybe months?
3) is intensive care usual after a procedure like this?
4) how can I get some support for my mum? Is there anyone she can speak to?
Thanks.
James
