Hi all,
my mom was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer in March of this year. Her initial lump was 1.2cm big and so far she has had a mastectomy which showed the actual size grew to 5 and a half cm. Her surgery was in June and she is due to start her chemotherapy in around 2 weeks time. This was because 2 out of the 12 lymph nodes they took were positive for cancer but her bone scan and body scan were clear. The only thing they found was a small 5mm dot on her left lung but because it is so small they can't determine what it is . Her nurse has told her if it was cancer, the chemo she is due to have will completely eradicate this anyway. So far she has done really well with coping and given the lockdown when all of this happened, she has remained so positive. I would just like some info on what to expect with chemotherapy. I am her only daughter at 25 years old and am currently looking after her full time. She will be having 3 rounds of EC and then 3 rounds of docetaxel followed by radiation. If anyone would be willing to share their stories or experiences with this type of chemotherapy then that would be much appreciated. I know of a few obvious side effects of chemotherapy because my aunt and also grandmother have had chemotherapy in the past but this was when I was really young so I can't remember much.
Thank you in advance
Take care all and stay safe :)
Tee x
