My dad was treated for throat cancer in 2018 he also had radiotherapy for it. He later suffered with pain from his ear going up towards his head. We found out that the cancer had returned in his lymph nodes in his neck :( make sure your partner gets it checked out asap. My dads prognosis isnt looking good.

thank you for replying , did  they give further treatment? Did he struggle to eat ? Did they find this out through the scan ? Xxx

Hi Zoe, 

Yes my dad had a further operation called radial neck dissection with option for chemo or radio. This was end of feb this year. Unfortunately in June we found out it had returned again and my dad has weeks to live. Very sad! My dad went for scans and 3 monthly check ups and it wasnt picked up. It was only until he got taken to hospital because he pasted out getting out of bed one morning. 

What stage cancer is it? When was the diagnosis? And yes my dad really struggle to eat too. He can no longer eat Xx

 So sorry to hear about your dad , sending you lots of love No one has ever mentioned a stage but he was diagnosed in December, had his tonsils out then started radiotherapy, finished radiotherapy on 10th April but things have got worse since ,he has had a camera down his throat , he has a  new ulcer where his tonsils were , they are keeping a eye on it and a yellow mass ,they said this could be scaring tissue,  but they can’t do anything till after the scan ,he can only get one finger in his mouth , they have saidvthe head pain is not a good sign but not overly concerned xxx

Thanks Zoe. Atleast you have a scan booked for next week. What type of scan is it? Was the cancer anywhere else apart from tonsil? It's a horrible disease. Ive added you if you ever wanted to speak privately xxx wishing you all the luck for the scan xx
