My grandpa (68yo) is currently undergoing treatments for his brain tumor (III or IV glioma - awaiting further lab tests to establish; after surgical resection and RT, before chemo currently) and he tolerated the treatment so far really well (to the point that all the docs that saw him were struck by how good he appears) but over the past two days, we've noticed a thing like an absence seizure happening to him multiple times during the day. I'm not sure that's what it is but it seems to fit the online descriptions - it's like, he's watching TV and then suddenly his mouth takes a confused/relaxed look and his eyes turn to the far left along with the head - and then come back to the TV. Then the same thing again. And then it stops.
Sometimes it's looking down not to the side, sometimes diagonally - but the scenario is always the same: disoriented face expression, eyes roll to one side (possibly with the head) and then come back and then it's all back to normal again, everything lasts like 5 seconds max. There is no disorientation before or after whatsoever and grandpa says he doesn't feel it happening at all - you can ask him during that episode and he still won't tell that clearly his eyes had just been involuntarily rolling to one side and his expression changed! Also, he doesn't get confused or lose track of the conversation if it happens during one - he just speaks slower for the few seconds and is back to normal.
Did you have a thing like that yourself, too? He never had a problem with seizures but I know that they may certainly appear after brain tumor treatments. Should I be worried? We're seeing his doc in 10 days anyway but is there a need for any emergency help before that or can we just wait until then and talk with the doc? Is there anything to be worried about?
