Need to talk to someone

Hello, 

 

 My mum has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's  just me, her and my stepdad. 

 

Im shocked. I'm frightened as she already has heart and lung diesse. She has to have a mastectomy, there not offering reconstruction as she's not stro g enough for operation..

 

I'm a 45 Yr old grown women and I feel like a frightened child. 

 

I just want to hug her and I can't because of covid

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to read about your mum. It sounds like she is going through an awful lot at the moment, as I'm sure all of you are with this.

    Often age isn't a factor when a parent gets ill - it can make anyone feel vulnerable and worried so I can completely understand how you feel.

    Hopefully she has some next steps to take in terms of a treatment path. Try to take things a day at a time, and we are always here for support on this forum if you need it.

    Thank you. No treatment plan. Had a CT scam today and got noduals on kedys and hip.  I just hop cancer hasn't spread because she can't (I think) have chemo due to her heart and lung probs. Mastectomy on the 17th all veu g well

    Thank you Ben.. I'm just frightened, how bad is that when it's not me that has cancer
