Hi Shatabdi,
Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to read about your father - I can only imagine how tough this must be and to be far away from your family.
There perhaps isn't too much you can do at this point in terms of help, so try not to feel like you should be doing more. Keep in touch with your family as often as you can, but in the meantime try to stay grounded and take things day by day - using your university work as an anchor and something to focus on. I can imagine it must feel difficult and perhaps distracting, but just do your best and as I say take things each day as they come.
Also speak to others about how you feel if you can, whether that's friends or family, or us here on this forum.
Wishing you all the best,
Ben

Hello Shatabdi,
what an awful situation to find yourself in,and one that will weigh heavy on your mind at a time when you need it to be at full capability.
The only advice l can offer is to make sure the uni administration is aware of your situation at the outset as they may be able to offer extra support and options at a time where you will certainly be in need of them.
The other thought is that your father would almost certainly wish for you to continue with great success, which would be one thing that would provide him with great comfort during this trying time.Difficult though it is,your success would be the greatest gift you could give him right now,and in no way should you view it as being selfish, more selfless in regard to resisting your natural urge to drop everything to rush to him.
l hope you manage to find your way through,
David
