Kidney cancer operation covid 19

So dad goes into hospital for a 6 hour cancer operation, ends up in ITU, on dialysis, gets moved to a surgical ward for 1 day, then has breathing problems and chest pain, goes unresponsive, met team called, gets sedated/ventilated, then moved to a Covid area red zone of ITU, swab result negative, but they still insist hes stays in the Covid area, as swabs can be inaccurate, my worry is he is high risk being on a Covid area, he will probably get it now even if he is negative, feeling confused, hospital policy.

  • Hi Welshy21,

I can understand your worries with this. Perhaps try to speak to the medical team if you can, to understand any potential risks and why they've made any decisions that you're not sure about.

I hope things are going OK at the moment for your dad.

Wishing him and yourself all the best,
