Brain cancer glioblastoma grade IV

Hi everyone. I really wish this chat would not exist ... But it does.

CT just confirmed that my mum is not doing well and tumor is back. Just on top of it she also has an edema, which docs are treating.

There will be no more treatment for the tumor though ... She had op, radiotherapy and chemo.

Her right side of body is not working, speach is impaired. I would just like to find out what can we expect and how it all might end.

Believe me I am crying when I am writing this and it must be hard to share your experiences but I need to get ready and I want to stay strong for her.

Thank you xx

  • Hello Alexbud

Welcome to the forum although I am very sorry that you find yourself needing to be here. It sounds as if things are very difficult for you at the moment with your Mum's recent news.

We do have some information on our website here which you may find helpful and there's also lots of inforamtion available on The Brain Tumour Charity website here

I'm unsure from your post what support you have in place for Mum but do talk to the Dr or nurses who are responsible for her care at the moment. They will be best able to answer your questions about how things may progress for Mum.

If you feel that you'd like to speak to one of our nurses then you're most welcome to call them. They'll be able to offer some support and advice. You can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Whilst we have a wide range of different types of cancer here on the forum, we also have lots of members who have cared for a loved one through their diagnosis and final weeks/months. Hopefully some of them will stop by to share their experiences with you and offer some words of support. Do keep posting here if it helps to be able to talk about things. We'll do our best to support you through this difficult time.

    Best wishes,

    Jenn
