Relapsed Glioblastoma, cancer now in 3 areas of the brain,

Hiii, my mum was diagnosed with Glioblastoma a year ago and has had clear scans for the last year, until last week. The doctors confirmed that it has returned and is now in not one but three areas of the brain. I am devestated. She is starting chemo again, I would just like some advice on what the outlook is. Has anyone else had a similar experience? It's driving me mad not knowing. I can't even stay with my mum at the moment as I'm a student nurse in the hospital and she's having to shield. I know the prognosis for these sort of cancer isn't very good. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this before. Thanks x

  • Hi lovely,

I'm so sorry that you have had to go through this, I'm sending you so much love. You are strong and capable of getting through this. I haven't personally gone through something very similar, but I hope someone who has will see this soon!

Stay safe, you will get through this, you are amazing xxx

  • Oh no! So sorry to hear this!

It's hard to know what the outcome will be, as it's so different with each patient. What's the treatment beyond chemo? Was she given any other options? We have a lot of people on our FB support group (OurBrainBank) who have lived YEARS beyond their prognosis, so it definitely is possible! I can't imagine how difficult it is to not only deal with this new unhurdle, plus the uncertainty, but also not being able to be with her!

Best of luck and virtual hugs to you!

    Stacey
