I don't know personally,  but have heard many say that ... I don't think it's unusual...  so don't think extra washing will help .. you could bring some flowers or a nice plug in scent ...

 the smell you refer too could be linked to changed body functions and the effects of drugs,After l had bowel surgery with the gall bladder removed,there was a marked change in odour until the body adjusted and healed itself
